MICHIGAN'S SHARAYAH HERNANDEZ & JULIE HYRNE NAMED APRIL 21 WESTERN DIVISION CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. (April 21, 2008) -- The University of Michigan's Sharayah Hernandez (Jr., Pico Rivera, Calif./El Rancho) and Julie Hyrne (Jr., Sunnyvale, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) have been named the April 21 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Western Division Co-Players of the Week for their performance in leading the Wolverines to the 2008 Western Division Championship.

Hernandez, who also earned the April 14 honor, scored a goal and recorded two steals in a 21-0 victory over Gannon University before tallying two goals in the first 1:18 of play and grabbing three steals in an 11-3 victory over Indiana University in the title game.

Hyrne, who picks up her fourth Player of the Week award after garnering the January 28 honor this year and the February 26 and April 23 honors from a year ago, scored a goal and grabbed a steal in a 23-4 win over Penn State University-Behrend, netted four goals with an assist and steal versus Gannon and recorded two goals with a steal against Indiana.

Hernandez, Hyrne and the rest of the Wolverines will next be in action on April 25-27 as the University of Michigan will host the 2008 CWPA Eastern Championship in Ann Arbor, Mich.
